Tari Pendet

Tari Pendet is a traditional Balinese welcoming dance typically performed by female dancers carrying flower-filled bowls. It symbolizes greetings and respect for guests or deities descending to Earth.

Tari Condong

Tari Condong is a prelude dance in the Legong performance. Its graceful and expressive movements depict a maid accompanying a princess, often used as basic training for beginner dancers in Bali.

Tari Baris

Tari Baris is a traditional Balinese warrior dance performed by male dancers. It features bold and powerful movements that reflect a warrior's courage and readiness on the battlefield.

Tari Puspanjali

Tari Puspanjali is a modern welcoming dance created as a tribute to guests. Performed by a group of female dancers, it blends classical movements with grace and charm.

Tari Wirayuda

Tari Wirayuda depicts a battalion of royal soldiers preparing to defend the homeland. Performed by male dancers, it showcases unity, strength, and heroism.

About Us

Sanggar Seni Mupu Art Dance is a center for traditional Balinese dance training dedicated to preserving culture through training, performances, and character education. We provide dance training for all ages, from children to adults, with a professional approach rooted in cultural heritage. Dances taught include Tari Pendet, Condong, Baris, Puspanjali, Wirayuda, as well as several contemporary and creative dances. Through regular events like level tests, temple performances, and intensive training programs, Sanggar Seni Mupu Art Dance serves as a space for the younger generation to learn, grow, and contribute to keeping Balinese culture alive and thriving.

MUPUFEST #1: BALI-WIDE DANCE COMPETITION

MUPUFEST #1 was a successful dance competition across Bali hosted by Sanggar Seni Mupu Art Dance. It became a platform for youth to showcase their talent and love for Balinese dance in a competitive yet respectful and communal environment. More than just a competition, it was a gathering space for art lovers, culture preservers, and creative communities. Due to high enthusiasm, MUPUFEST is now an annual sanggar agenda with fresh concepts and energy each year.

ANNUAL LEVEL-UP EVENT

The Level-Up Event is an annual milestone for each student of Sanggar Seni Mupu Art Dance. In this event, students showcase what they've learned over the past year in front of instructors, parents, and guests. Through evaluations, students meeting the criteria are promoted to the next level. This event is both a performance and a celebration of each student's dedication, discipline, and growth in learning Balinese dance.

INTERSCHOOL COMPETITIONS & REGULAR TEMPLE PERFORMANCES

Inter-school competitions and regular temple offerings (ngayah) are consistent activities held by the sanggar. Competitions train students' confidence and apply skills learned. Temple performances serve as devotion and cultural preservation. In every performance, students proudly express their training with responsibility and respect for Balinese spiritual and cultural traditions.
